I don't think of nursery workers as peasants, but I DO think that many church goers think of nursery as the 'bottom of the heap' in terms of church importance. Few people get all excited about helping with children, especially the young ones, as opposed to the numbers of people wanting to teach adults. I know from experience that it takes tons of mental and physical energy to teach and care for the youngest church members.Beatrice Blounthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18412115311766270612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2963733760359755862.post-14874954622480914982011-08-14T22:06:19.434-04:002011-08-14T22:06:19.434-04:00While I generally agree with what you said, I have...While I generally agree with what you said, I have to take offense (somewhat jokingly) at categorizing nursery workers as Peasants. :) As I work in our nursery every other week, I'm inclined to think worship services would look dramatically different without this critical position. Try keeping 12 eighteen-month olds entertained for an hour and a half; especially at the end when they seem to instinctively "know" that the pastor has gone over time in his sermon (again). To each his own, but nothing gets me more excited on a Sunday morning than the thought of goldfish crackers, bubbles, and teaching little ones to say "Bible." <3MusicWheeliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17990471810374779571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2963733760359755862.post-44826876162897968192011-08-10T10:58:13.799-04:002011-08-10T10:58:13.799-04:00Where is the cord to pull that stops the bus...?Where is the cord to pull that stops the bus...?DBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2963733760359755862.post-51476799204039259842011-08-10T09:38:34.494-04:002011-08-10T09:38:34.494-04:00What a happy jester you have made me!What a happy jester you have made me!Beatrice Blounthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18412115311766270612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2963733760359755862.post-34518983793913118772011-08-10T09:01:22.428-04:002011-08-10T09:01:22.428-04:00"Huzzah" and "Hear Hear"! I was barely able to resist my impulse to cut off some ears - if ya know what I mean. I also fought my impulse to go public with the evil doers; and bring them before the court of the people! Well. Right as I was turning out the light, Beatrice rings my bell. You are a gift; your insight brought some peace to my sore soul and some much needed laughter to end the day with. I dreamed that I was pregnant (of all things) – now THAT would be a physical miracle – so I resolve there must have been a spiritual connotation, anyway I’m “going with it.” I bloody hope for a day, when Christ followers act like Christ followers – and things shall be different! Was it Augustine who said: "The Church is a whore, but she is my mother!"? Even with her imperfections – I deeply love her. By the way, earlier in the week you said you needed a job; uhh... you’re sitting on a goldmine, missy. You'd sell a gazillion books if you'd put these blogs in print.<br />LeilaLeilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14982736641447191824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2963733760359755862.post-33482526008125990992011-08-10T00:56:24.120-04:002011-08-10T00:56:24.120-04:00I think I'll join you!I think I'll join you!ReflectionsByPjhttp://pennyshire.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
